Play Magical Review 7.5/10
- Good welcome offer
- Regulated by the UKGC
- Provably fair games
- Well-designed interface
- Solid security measures thanks to Betable’s platform
- Mobile-friendly site
Today we’re going to talk about one of the newest casinos managed by a well-known London-based online gambling operator, Betable Ltd. While the company itself has been around since 2010, the site is as fresh as they come, having just started out this year. It operates under licence number #000-023328-R-307313-016 issued by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. The site has a wide variety of games, very lucrative bonuses and promotions, excellent security, and good customer support. Read our Play Magical review below to find out more.
User Experience: 7/10
First, let’s talk a little about the overall user experience of playing on the Play Magical site. We’ll start with general navigation and the registration process, then talk a little about the site’s design and mobile compatibility.
Before we talk about the site, let’s first mention one thing that may not be immediately obvious: Play Magical is based on Betable Ltd.’s unique platform, which is also used when registering on the site. This means that currently only UK punters are accepted; people from other countries cannot register and play.
Registering at Play Magical casino is a very quick process that requires just your name, surname, phone number, and email address to get started. In order to try out the games, though, you’ll have to add a payment method and verify your details. Unfortunately, this also means that you won’t be able to demo any of the games before ponying up some cash to play them.
In terms of navigating around the site, it’s all pretty standard fare. The site ran well on all devices and operating systems when we tested it, with Play Magical games loading quickly regardless of the platform. The layout follows typical industry standards, with games taking up centre stage. Information about your account is located in the top-right corner, live chat with customer support can be found on the bottom-right, and navigation panels leading you between different games/sections of the site are found on the upper portion of the screen.
As we’ve already mentioned, Play Magical is all about evoking that feeling of magic, mystery, and wonder when playing your favourite slots or table games online. The design is very colourful, featuring night sky constellations, gems, and other magical trinkets. One notable flaw is the inability to filter games by provider.
There is currently no Play Magical app available for smartphones and tablets, but the site is optimized for both Android and iOS devices.
Software & Game Selection: 8/10
The next few sections are all about the most important aspect of the site: its gaming selection. We’ll talk a little about the game providers as well as the available slot, card, and roulette games.
Betable Ltd. likes working with proven professionals, so you can expect to find the industry’s biggest names such as NetEnt, Playtech, and Pragmatic Play here. There are some notable names missing, but bear in mind that the site is still very fresh.
When it comes to Play Magical slots, it’s a case of quality over quantity. You won’t find thousands of games as you would on many competitor sites, but the 200+ game selection has all the classics you’d want, including Starburst and Gonzo’s Quest.
The card game selection is also pretty solid, with everything from baccarat and blackjack to casino hold’em poker. There are also video poker games such as deuces wild, jacks or better, and joker poker.
There are European and American versions of roulette, as well as those with a live dealer for fans of the real casino experience.
Bonuses & Free Play Options: 8/10
In this section, we’ll discuss ongoing Play Magical promotions, loyalty rewards, and tournaments.
First off, let’s talk about the welcome offer. As a new player, you can earn up to £150 plus 150 spins on your first three deposits. This works as follows:
- The first deposit of £10 or more is 100% matched up to £50 and you get 50 free spins.
- The second deposit of £10 or more is 50% matched up to £100 and you get another 50 free spins
- The third deposit of £20 or more gives you 50 free spins
Wagering requirements are 50 times the combined wager and bonus, so a £10 deposit + a £10 bonus would require a total of £1,000 to cash out. As for Play Magical free spins, players can pick between four games: Starburst, Aloha! Cluster Pays, The Legend of Shangri-La, and Berryburst.
The site often runs short-term promotions, such as the one offering five randomly selected players 100% deposit cashbacks up to £150 in November of 2020.
While there is no dedicated VIP loyalty club to speak of at the moment, the casino does reward long-term players with special timed offers such as bonus spins, win boosts, and more. These are typically sent through email and SMS, but can also be found directly from the Wallet section on the website.
Customer Support: 7/10
Play Magical customer support is pretty solid, but nothing special. The agents are fairly quick to respond and you can contact them through either live chat or an email form on the website. There is also a detailed FAQ section available. The main problem with customer support is that agents are only available from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. GMT, so you’ll be out of luck if you’re playing late at night.
Banking Options: 7/10
Next up, we’ll talk a little bit about the payment methods and currencies that can be used at Play Magical.
Given that this is a UK-only site, the only supported currency at the moment is British pounds. There is no indication of if and when cryptocurrencies will be added.
The minimum Play Magical deposit is £10 and you can set your own daily, weekly, and monthly maximum. Transfers are handled through the secure Betable login and deposits are made pretty much instantly, regardless of the method used. Speaking of deposit methods, you can use Visa and Mastercard debit cards, as well as PayPal. Neteller and Skrill were unavailable at the time of writing this review, but they may become available again in the future.
Withdrawals are handled in much the same way as deposits. There are no transfer fees and the minimum Play Magical withdrawal amount is £10. Using traditional methods such as debit cards will usually incur a waiting time of between one and three business days.
Security and player safety are some of the highlights of Play Magical. Your data is secured through the Betable platform, which we were told uses standard SSL encryption and also employs a firewall to keep your private data away from prying eyes.
There is also an independent company that audits Play Magical’s random number generator, together with the UK Gambling Commission. Betable Ltd. is partnered with GamStop and IBAS, so you can be sure that the company complies with all the relevant responsible gambling practices. We’ll conclude this Play Magical review by pointing out that you can set up exclusions, timeouts, or deposit limits with just a few clicks on the website.

QuinnBet Review 8/10
There are too many online casinos and betting sites lacking personality and with far too little to offer to their players. In a time when punters and casino fans expect a lot and so many venues are trying to get their attention, offering anything less than both of these worlds is like untying your shoelaces […]Read More
